13 Hear,
and bear witness
against Jacob's house.
Oracle
of my Lord
Adonai, the God of armies.
14 For
on the day I punish
Israel for its rebellions,
I will punish
the altars of Bethel,
the horns of the altar
shall be cut
off
and fall
to the ground.
15 I will strike
both winter
house and summer
house;
and the houses of ivory will
perish,
and the many
houses
will be swept
away.
Adonai's
oracle.

1 Hear this message,
Bashan cows
who
are on Mount
Samaria,
oppressors
of the poor,
crushers
of the needy,
who say to their husbands,
"Bring and we'll drink!"
2 My Lord Adonai
has sworn by his holiness:
So,
look! Days
are coming upon
you,
when they shall take
you away with hooks,
and your rear
guard with fish-hooks.
3 Through gaps [in the wall] you will leave,
each
one straight
ahead;
and be thrown out towards Harmon.
Adonai's
oracle.

4 Enter
Bethel - and rebel!
Gilgal - and multiply rebellion!
Each morning
bring in your sacrifices,
every three days
your tithes!
5 Burn
leavened
(bread) as thank
offering,
call
out [your] freewill
offerings - proclaim
them;
for that
is what you love, children of Israel!
Oracle of
my Lord Adonai.

comments 4:6
6 Indeed it was I
who gave
you clean
teeth
in all your
cities,
and lack of bread
in all your settlements,
yet you did not return
to me.
Adonai's
oracle.
7 Indeed
it was I who withheld showers from you
with three months still
to harvest;
I sent
rain to one city,
and to
another city I sent no rain;
one plot was
rained upon,
and the plot which was
not rained on withered;
8 two or three cities
stagger to
one city
to drink
water, and are not satisfied;
yet you did not return
to me.
Adonai's
oracle.
9 I struck
you with wind
and worm
increasingly,
both your orchards,
and your vineyards;
your figs
and your olives
the locust eats;
yet you did not return
to me.
Adonai's
oracle.
10 I sent among you
a plague like Egypt's
plague;
I killed
your young men with
the sword;
and your horses were taken captive;
I made the smell
of your camp rise in your nose;
yet you did not return
to me.
Adonai's
oracle.
11 I overthrew some
of you,
as God
overthrew
Sodom and Gomorrah,
and you became like a smoldering
stick pulled
from the fire;
yet you did not return
to me.
Adonai's
oracle.

12 So this is what I
was doing to you, Israel;
because
this is what
I was doing to you,
prepare
to meet
your God, Israel!

13 So,
look!
The maker
of mountains,
creator
of wind,
makes
known to humanity
what his
thoughts
are,
makes
dawn darkness,
and treads
on the high places of the land-
Adonai,
the God of armies,
is his name!
1 Hear
this message that I am raising
over you,
a funeral
song, house of
Israel:
2 Fallen,
never to rise again,
is the Maid
of Israel;
left
on her land,
with no one to raise
her.
3 For
thus says my Lord Adonai:
The city
that marched out a thousand
will have a hundred left,
and one that marched
out a hundred
will have ten
left,
for the house
of Israel.
