qayits "summer fruit/summer"
like chorep "winter" is used of both the harvest and its season.
Thus in Amos 3:15 the translation is "summer house", while in 8:1;
8:2 the word is rendered "summer
fruit". (To indicate the pun with qets "end"
I have actually stretched the rendering to "fruit from summer's end".)
