נָחָשׁ nachash "snake, serpent" with nshk "bite" provides a link between two verses in Amos speaking of the impossibility of escape 5:19 and 9:3 - nachash often either carries overtones of the serpent in Eden (Gen 3) or of the mythology of Canaanite cultures (Is 27:1).
