דָוִיד dawid "David" king of Israel, in Amos he is named twice:

1. with reference to the singing of the Israelite elite (6:5)
2. at the end of the book, in the promise that his kingdom will be restored (9:11).

דּוֹד dod "uncle, lover" occurs in Am 6:10 where because of the uncertainty of the verse I have rendered it with the imprecise "relative".
