ענה `nh "answer" a very common word, but only appearing once in Amos, despite all the "saying" which goes on the book contains few responses. In 7:14 Amos "answers" Amaziah, and of course, although the word is not used, in the vision accounts God replies to Amos intercession (7:2-3, 5-6), and Amos in turn replies to God's questions (7:8; 8:2).
