עשׂה
'asah the common verb for "making" or "doing". The
participle is used
three times in Amos (4:1; 5:8;
9:12) each time to speak of
God as the "one who makes" = "creator" or the "one who
does". Two of these (4:13;
5:8) are in the hymnic
fragments which praise God as creator.
